Mr. Algarin
My name is Raul, and I am originally from Spain. I graduated from Law School and specialized in Human Rights, but I have always been interested in foreign languages and literature, and Elizabeth High School gave me a great opportunity to change career. This will be my sixth year working for a community of sharp and high-achieving students and contributing to their acquisition of valuable tools on their path towards adulthood.
During the 2024-25 school year, I will teach Spanish 2, Spanish 1011 (C.E.1), Spanish 1012 (C.E.2), and Spanish 2011 (C.E. 3) for those doing concurrent enrollment through Arapahoe Community College. As a professional, I commit myself to delivering meaningful lesson plans and activities that allow students to grow independently and in interaction with their peers. I always keep in mind that consolidating a second language requires time and encourage my students to use Spanish whenever they have an opportunity in and out of the classroom.
I have never stopped being a learner and that makes me understand many of the difficulties and frustrations my students may experience. This will be my second year learning Serbian, and I am studying a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. I do believe life-long learning is necessary to get on in a complex and changing world and I try to instill my students with a steady thirst for knowledge and critical thinking.
