Welcome to Health and Physical Education.  My name is Mr. Novak and this is my second year teaching at Elizabeth Middle School.  In addition to teaching, I also coach 8th grade girls basketball and varsity volleyball and girls golf at the High School.  Outside of school I enjoy all things sports and being physically active.  My favorite sports include football, soccer and golf.  My favorite teams are the Green Bay Packers and Manchester United.  On the weekends I enjoy camping, hiking, biking, skiing, rock climbing and golfing.

  • This is a message for Health students only.  When completing the Health HW you only are responsible for answering the questions under the Homework section on the Lesson Plan.  You do not need to answer the Objective questions.  Hope this helps.

  • Hello everyone, I know that we have all been asked to stay indoors and that it is important that we are all staying safe in terms of distancing ourselves from others.  While keeping this in mind, here is some research on the physical and mental health benefits of going outside (remembering to stay safe and social distance!)

     

    Being outdoors allows you to get exercise!  Additionally exercise releases dopamine in the brain which is a natural chemical that makes us feel good!

    Sunshine gives your body essential vitamins!

    Being in nature can help reduce anxiety!

    The outdoors provides aromatherapy that can boost your immune system!
