The district's gifted education teachers toured the new CSU Spur facility and conducted a number of meetings to better define support for gifted and creative students.

Touring the Spur facilities, they learned about opportunities for field trips that can connect students to scientists, researchers, veterinary experts and faculty from two universities through live demonstrations, hands-on experiments and interactive experiences.

The Spur campus, which is on the National Western Complex near I-25 and I-70 in Denver, has three buildings:

• The Vida building includes the Temple Grandin Equine Center with indoor and outdoor arenas where training and horse therapy take place and areas where observers can watch surgeries on dogs and cats.
• The Terra building is all about food and agriculture and includes a full teaching and culinary kitchen, dozens of ongoing crop experiments, and an AI-controlled rooftop greenhouse with a view of the Denver skyline just a couple miles away.
• The Hydro building has preK-12 educational programs and exhibits all about the water cycle, water quality testing labs, a cafe and a variety of educational opportunities in it's "Backyard" which connects to the South Platte River.
