Carol Hinds and her family have lived in Elizabeth since 2005. She has one child, her daughter, still attending the Elizabeth School District, while two of her children have now graduated from the district.
Carol has been active as a volunteer in our schools since moving to Elizabeth in 2005. She has served on the District Accountability Committee, serving as secretary to that committee. Carol has been an active classroom volunteer in her children’s classrooms, along with volunteering at school events held by the SHE PTCO on a regular basis.
Prior moving to Elizabeth, Carol served as a District Delegate for the Highlands Ranch Community Association. She also served on and chaired the Aurora Horsemen’s Association Board as well as serving as a parent representative for the Ascension Lutheran Mom’s Day Out Preschool Program.
Along with serving on the Elizabeth School District Board of Education, Carol serves on several other boards within our community. Serving on a number of boards has given her the opportunity to connect personally with many of our residents, local officials and our state representatives. Carol feels the connections she has made through volunteering her time within our community on various boards helps her in advocating for our schools and our district directly within our community and with our state representatives.
Before moving to Colorado, Carol was a Certified Shorthand Reporter (court reporter) in the State of Texas for 10 years. As a Court Reporter, she was also a managing partner at Stautner, Klinghamer & Associates Court Reporters.
While on the board she has set a goal to “make our schools the best they can be for our children, our teachers and administrators by seeking multiple perspectives before finalizing any decisions; and working together with all five board members."
