At a special meeting on Wednesday, June 8, the Elizabeth School District Board of Education officially accepted Superintendent Douglas Bissonette’s resignation and declared Dr. William Dallas a finalist for interim superintendent. Both actions came on unanimous votes.
Before approving Dallas as the finalist for the interim superintendent position, the Board met in executive session to consider his application.
Dallas was recently hired as the assistant superintendent and was scheduled to start that position in early July.
According to state law, the school district is required to provide a period of at least 14 days for public review before a final vote on the interim appointment. The Board will conduct that vote at its regularly scheduled meeting on June 27.
