Two students from each class at Running Creek Elementary were honored Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the school's first assembly of the year. The Leader In Me assembly highlighted the first of seven key leadership traits taught throughout the year: "Be proactive." Students who were cited by teachers for taking proactive steps in the classroom each received a certificate, a hug and handshake from principal Robin Hunt.
Parents of honorees were invited to the assembly and cheered enthusiastically when their child's name was called. Three students who were not present but will receive Leader In Me Awards are Carter Charouhas, Ryder Mathews and Blake Schar.
