Back-to-School events draw big crowds at elementary schools

Both Elizabeth elementary schools hosted back-to-school events this week, with Singing Hills welcoming families to an after-school event on Wednesday and Running Creek hosting a barbecue on Thursday evening.

At both events, scores of families stopped by to chat with staff, visit classrooms, and help students fill out scavenger-hunt sheets to earn prizes. Roses' Creamery brought a food truck to Singing Hills, and at Running Creek, free hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and desserts awaited hungry families while children lined up for face painting and balloon animals. At both schools, smiles were the order of the day.
