Help shape ideas for outdoor amenities in Elizabeth

Survey flier for parks, trails and open space

The Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) board today announced the award of a $125,000 grant to the Town of Elizabeth to develop the Greater Elizabeth Parks, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan. The grant is part of GOCO’s Planning and Capacity program, which invests in projects that address

opportunities, explore issues, engage communities, and examine trends in the outdoors.

Elizabeth has seen significant population growth in recent years, putting mounting pressure on the area’s outdoor recreation facilities and resources. Through this plan, the town hopes to address urgent open-space needs and prepare for the future.

The plan will address growth, safety, and access to outdoor amenities. Partners seek to conserve open space and connect to broader conservation efforts, while reducing barriers to outdoor recreation. The planning process will work to build connectivity by identifying optimal locations for wayfinding signage placement, aiming to enhance navigation and overall user experience within both new and old neighborhoods, Elizabeth parks and recreation offerings, and Elizabeth School District facilities.

The first step in the planning process is to survey the public about outdoor amenities. Please visit this survey link to share your opinion.
