Welcome Turtle Families
Miss Amanda is pleased to have you in her classroom!
Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment using structured activities and play-based experiences to prepare children for life-long learning. We use a theme-based curriculum, which is researched-based and developmentally appropriate. Our program utilizes Teaching Strategies GOLD to assess, monitor, and track the growth of each student while providing all-inclusive instruction to meet the individual goals of each student.
We offer a full-day program. Before and after care is available for an additional fee.
Monday through Friday 8a-3p.
What Turtles Are Learning
-
We’ve noticed that the children’s favorite meals often include bread or foods like bread (e.g. pizza, pretzels). The children are curious about the types of bread they eat, how it is made, the shapes it comes in, and how we eat it. We think a study of bread will be a great opportunity for children to explore their interests.
As we study bread, we will learn concepts and skills related to physical development, literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts, and technology. If we find the kids are really interested in this study, we will continue it the whole month. If their interest cools, we will move on to our study of the arctic.
