Child Find Services
CHILD FIND/EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION - AGES 0-5 YEARS OLD (BIRTH TO KINDERGARTEN)
The Elizabeth School District Child Find team provides families of children ages zero to five years old (birth to kindergarten) free developmental screenings/evaluations. A multi-desciplinary team will evaluate the child's development and make recommendations. The team may be comprised of an early childhood special education teacher, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist and the district nurse depending on the needs of your child. These screenings are confidential and are conducted by licensed professionals employed by the Elizabeth School District.

Screenings and evaluation are available for children ages 0-5 years old (birth to kindergarten) to determine eligibility for special education services. Children who undergo a child find evaluation are referred, if appropriate, to the local Part C program, which assists parents in determining services that will educationally benefit their child. Eligible children are provided special education services according to their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
