Mrs. Ginger Zander

Hello and Welcome,

My name is Ginger Zander and this year I am teaching CC3, Integrated I and Integrated II in our math department.

My family and I have lived in Elizabeth for over 20 years and my husband and I have enjoyed working here and watching our children grow up here.

I had the wonderful opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom until our youngest entered school and have had the opportunity to teach at Elizabeth Middle School, Skyview Middle School, in Colorado Springs and here at Elizabeth High School.

When not lesson planning or grading papers, I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren. I enjoy making things with my hands, with my favorite activities being crochet, plastic canvas, sewing, and diamond art. I enjoy relaxing with a good book and, when the weather is right, going on hikes with my family.

While raising my children, I was also a student, earning 4 degrees:

Associates of Arts from New Mexico State University (NMSU)

Bachelor of General Studies with an emphasis in History from Brigham Young University (BYU)

Master of Arts in Education emphasis Secondary Teacher Education and Master of Arts in Education emphasis Special Education from University of Phoenix (UOP)

  • Hello Parents,

Here is some information about what you will find when you check your student's grades in Infinite Campus:

Assignment Due Dates - sometimes the due date might change depending on how the activity goes in class but I may not change it in IC.

T - this means the assignment was turned in on time, and I am working on grading it.

L - this means the assignment is late. This does not hurt a student's grade, students can still earn credit for the assignment as long as it is turned in before we take the Individual Chapter Assessment.

M - this means the assignment is missing. This does earn a grade of zero, which is calculated into a student's grade. Points can be earned back as long as the assignment is turned in before we take the Individual Test for the chapter.

Students are expected to have their homework ready to go the day we grade the work in class. If they are absent, they will need to come in during their Cardinal Ground School, Study Hall, or afterschool to grade their work. Students will need to get a pass from me beforehand to be able to come in and grade.

Students are expected to show their work on all homework problems. This is for a few reasons. First, if there is a mistake, we can go look at how the problem was solved to see where the misstep took place. Second, so they can see what they are doing with the problem and if there is a question, we have work to look at to help answer the question. Third, to develop a habit, as they get into higher levels of math, the problems will get harder to do in their head.

Your student can find more details about an assignment or any PDFs of handouts on Google Classroom. All textbook assignments are submitted through Google Classroom. There will be some assignments that are turned in during class.
