Conceptual Biology is a year long course for students in the Alternative Program to gain a better understanding of how biology affects most aspects of their lives.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
This course will cover what is life, cells, classification, bacteria, genetics, and ecology. This biology class will best meet the needs of students identified and approved by administration following strict criteria. This class is a project based, student centered, alternative class using the scientific method to solve problems and learn the following life science skills to include ecology, cells, viruses, DNA, genetics, and plants.. Students will demonstrate their comprehension of the content through alternative assessments such as reflective journals, presentations, models, group work, and student initiated projects

RECOMMENDED GRADES: 10
PREREQUISITES: Physical Science, enrolled in Alternative program or teacher recommendation
