COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Advanced 2D Visual Arts expands upon the techniques and concepts learned in Foundational 2D and Intermediate 2D and both courses are required for enrollment. Classwork and projects will tackle more advanced concepts and emphasis will be placed on visual problem solving, technical skill development, conceptual sophistication, and the application of learned techniques and theory towards refined and considered works.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
- - To expand upon students’ technical foundation and improve proficiency with different 2D media including Pencil, Pen & Ink, Pastel, Painting, Printmaking and Multimedia.
- - To explore more advanced conceptual approaches and techniques to making art and provide context for how these approaches convey meaning.
- - To develop students’ ability to critically and constructively analyze their own work and the work of others and to be able to discuss their analysis in a productive manner.
