    COURSE DESCRIPTION:

    The Concert Band is composed of any person that plays a wind or percussion instrument. Students do not need to participate in marching band to be a part of the Concert Band. However, all students in marching band MUST be enrolled in concert band. Comprehensive musicianship will be stressed as the students develop a further understanding of music, their instrument, art, and culture through the study of a variety of styles of music. Students in this ensemble will have the opportunity to perform several times outside of class, as well as at festivals and competitions throughout the year. These students also play at 5 home basketball games as a “pep band”. This class may be taken more than one time for credit.

    PREREQUISITES:  Students need to have basic musical knowledge to play an instrument at the high school level.
