    COURSE DESCRIPTION:

    This course examines the development, influence, and cultural significance of sports throughout history.Students will explore how sports have shaped and reflected societal changes, economic developments, and political movements across the globe throughout history. 

     

    COURSE OBJECTIVE:

    Essential Questions: How have sports evolved across different cultures and time periods? In what ways have sports influenced social, political, and economic structures? How do sports reflect historical and cultural values? Course Objectives: Students will: Analyze the historical development of sports globally and in the U.S. Investigate the influence of sports on political and social movements. Understand the role of sports in reflecting economic and cultural changes. Explore the intersection of sports, race, gender, and identity. Develop historical analysis skills by interpreting primary and secondary sources.
