COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Students continue to study Spanish through an informal, conversational approach. This course has an important component on grammar and vocabulary, improving the student’s language skills with complex structures and putting emphasis on accuracy and clear expression of ideas. Hispanic culture and contemporary issues as well as an introduction to Hispanic literature through adapted texts will be a major focus of the class. This course is conducted 100% in Spanish and students are expected to participate in class discussions and work on different types of texts.
This course is offered during the first semester.
OPEN TO GRADES: 11, 12
RECOMMENDED GRADES: 11, 12
PREREQUISITES: Passed Spanish III with at least a 70% both semesters; willingness to communicate primarily in Spanish and with an interest in Hispanic and European culture. If there is a pause in Spanish classes such as not taking one for a year must have teacher approval to continue. Recomended taking all classes consecutively.
